When thinking of a way to describe Heather & George's wedding, the word magical could not be more fitting. Heather & George said "I do" tucked away in an enchanted redwood grove with their closest family & friends at the ever beautiful Deer Park Villa, in Fairfax, CA. Following the ceremony they chose to exchange personal vows to each other on the breathtaking mountainside of Mt. Tamalpais.
Heather chose Deer Park Villa because she knew she always wanted an outdoor "woodland wedding," complete with bistro lights. As soon as she found Deer Park Villa, she knew it was the one!
Speaking of the one... Heather & George met through a mutual friend, but their love story may have been "love at first sight."
His Side: One summer night, my best friend Sam (and Best Man) was trying to convince me to go out with some friends. My initial response was no, but then he sent me a picture of a girl that said she wanted to meet me. That picture was the first time I laid eyes on my future wife & the love of my life. Of course I couldn't say no after seeing her picture. That night Heather & I exchanged numbers. I texted Heather to set up a date , but we ended up not meeting because she lived in Livermore and I in Rohnert Park. It wasn't until about a year later that we had our first date when Heather moved back to Rohnert Park for work - and the rest was history. Even though Heather & I hadn't spoken for a year, I would still ask Sam "how my future wifie was doing". I knew from the moment I saw her that she would be the woman I would spend the rest of my life with. We truly do have a "love at first sight story" in my eyes!
Her Side: George and I met through our mutual friend Sam. I was working with Sam & he kept bringing up his friend George who was a baseball player at Sonoma State. I frequently visited Sonoma & Sam always joked that I should meet up with George while I was there. Fast forward to August 2012 when Sam and a few friends went to Sunshine Saloon in Pleasanton & George happened to be in town. Once we arrived, George and I hit it off instantly & exchanged numbers. George was extremely polite & asked me to dinner the following night, but I foolishly never responded. Luckily, the following year I moved to Rohnert Park for a job & connected with George again. We finally went on a date and over the next few weeks my feelings continued to grow as we constantly found reasons to be together. In December 2013 George asked me to be his girlfriend over dessert (he knows me so well!), and the rest is history!
Their wedding day was filled with so many memorable moments, but I must say my favorite detail was the sentimental meaning behind the song that the couple chose for their first dance. Heather & George chose "At Last," by Etta James as an ode to the love story between Heather's grandparents because it was the song they danced to at their wedding 50 years ago. Talk about a tear-jerker!
Being able to witness this gorgeous couple's love for each other is the reason I adore being a wedding planner & I am so honored to have been a part of their special day!
