Alright y’all, it took me forever to get this post up, but it’s finally here! This shoot is near and dear to my heart because this was my first styled shoot ever! (Yep, you read that right!). Plus the bride was my first roommate when I moved to SF, so this couple is super special to me!
While summer is in full swing, I’m over here daydreaming about some insanely gorgeous fall wedding designs that I am working on, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to showcase this decadent luxe boho shoot!
I know you’re dying to know the story behind this shoot, so let’s dive in! For this shoot, Kimberly MacDonald Photography & I wanted to keep the design dark and moody, yet romantic by pairing deep burgundy hues with pops of gold, and incorporating an eclectic mix of natural & vintage elements paired with a touch of luxury!
We chose G4 Estate in Sonoma County because of its idyllic rustic charm and lush greenery, which provided a stunning backdrop for our shoot, don’t you agree? We constructed a simple geometric arch framing the estate’s billowing willow trees & staged our tablescape on the lawn perched beneath towering redwoods.
Nature Rules created pure magic with the floral arrangements featuring rich, red & burgundy tones. Dripping florals, fresh pomegranates & large Protea were perfectly paired together to create the dramatic look we were after. We wanted the florals to be daring, yet undeniably beautiful to tie in our luxe boho vibe. And let me tell you, 50% of my brides always refer back to the bridal bouquet featured in this shoot (and I don't blame them)! We also did some really fun hoop florals - check out the groom’s hoop boutonniere & the bride’s floral hoop as another bouquet option. These were such fun details to incorporate!
Encore Event Rentals provided our beautiful wooden farm table & benches, along with our vintage-inspired tabletop rentals. We loved the idea of layering in different textures by adding the mauve velvet table runner by Party Crush Studios & silk napkins to contrast with our bold florals & the gorgeous wood detail on the farm table.
And now, let’s get to the dress...We adorned our bride in the ever gorgeous Marrakesh Melody gown by Rue De Seine which is the perfect balance between timeless & modern with stunning laser cut velvet detailing! It still might be my favorite gown ever! We wanted her hair & makeup to embody classic Bohemian elements by combining tousled braids and flowing waves, paired with a dark & bold dark berry lip. For those who know me, this lip color is not a surprise. I wholeheartedly agree that the bolder the lip, the better! Who’s with me?
If you can't tell by my post, I love love love Autumn & can't wait to dive in head first with all of my fall brides!
